Short version: this website itself collects nothing about you. It has no analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising, and it sets no cookies of its own. If you buy a book, the checkout is handled by Lemon Squeezy, which does process your data in order to sell you something. The detail is below.
Who is responsible
The data controller for this website is Raül Gimeno Carcedo, Gaspar Torrella 15, 46017 Valencia, Spain, contactable at hello@skipthedegree.net. Full identifying details are on the legal notice page.
What this website collects
Nothing directly. These pages are static files. There is no contact form, no newsletter signup, no account, no analytics script and no advertising network. No cookie is set by this domain.
Third parties that receive data when you load a page
| Service | What it receives | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare Pages (hosting) | Your IP address and browser user-agent, in standard server logs | Delivering the page and protecting against attack. Necessary for the site to work at all. |
| Google Fonts | Your IP address, when your browser requests the typefaces | Rendering the site's typography. |
| Lemon Squeezy (only if you open a checkout) | What you choose to enter: name, email, billing country, payment details | Processing your purchase. |
What happens if you buy
The purchase itself is processed by Lemon Squeezy, LLC, acting as merchant of record. When you check out, you provide your details directly to Lemon Squeezy, not to this site. Lemon Squeezy is the controller for the payment data it collects and is responsible for card data security; the operator of this site never sees or stores your card details.
After a completed sale, the operator receives from Lemon Squeezy a limited record of the order: your name, email address, billing country, the product purchased and the amount. This is used only to deliver the product, to answer support requests, to process refunds, and to keep the accounting records the law requires.
Legal basis
- Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) — delivering the book you paid for and providing support.
- Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR) — keeping transaction records for tax and accounting purposes.
- Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — keeping the site online and secure.
How long it is kept
Order records are kept for as long as required by Spanish tax and commercial law, which is generally up to six years from the end of the relevant financial year. Support correspondence is deleted once the matter is closed and no longer needed.
Emails you might receive
If you buy a book, you will receive a receipt and a download link. If a volume you own is updated, or a new volume is added to a Library you bought, you may receive a short notice about it. That is it — there is no marketing sequence and no newsletter. Every such email carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing never affects your access to what you paid for.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, and receive it in a portable format. Write to hello@skipthedegree.net and you will get an answer within one month.
Note that some data cannot be deleted on request while a legal obligation to retain it still applies — invoices being the usual example.
If you believe your data has been mishandled, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD, aepd.es) or to the supervisory authority in your own country.
Cookies
This domain sets no cookies. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie to identify trusted traffic. If you open a checkout, Lemon Squeezy sets the cookies it needs to run the transaction you asked for. Because none of these are used for analytics, profiling or advertising, no consent banner is shown.
Children
These products are not directed at children and no data is knowingly collected from anyone under 14.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new date at the top.
